Dear 516Ads,
This is definitely a great one. A day after the hurricane I received a text from Charles Loria, a great contractor who I was introduced to at one of your events and have been working with ever since. He wanted to know if I was OK because he was up in my area and said it looked like a war zone. I told him we had no power but the worst part was the pumps in the basement were not working and we were bailing water from them all night and day to keep the basement from getting ruined where my daughter has her apartment. He then called me to tell me he had a generator I could use as long as I needed it. My daughter and I went to his home at 9pm to pick it up and he and his wife treated us like family. They welcomed us into their home as if they knew us for years. He then proceeded to call continually every day to make sure we were using it safely and if we needed anything else to let him know.
As I am writing this I am crying happy tears because this man and his wife touched my family’s heart. Charlie is not only a great and HONEST contractor; he is a gentleman and a caring human being. I am proud to know him and work with him. There are not enough thank yous for him in my heart and soul. Thank you 516A ds for a wonderful introduction!!! Behind The Scenes: Irene/ Next Week…
Last week, Sunday morning - 7AM, we had the ability to send out our email; we chose not to. We figured with Hurricane Irene, most of us had more important things to be concerned about. The plan was to send a 'Happy Sunday Evening' edition. That didn't work because at 9AM the lights went out. We're still not sure if we made right or wrong decision. On one hand, if we sent email; it would have shown that we weren't going a storm get in our way. On the other hand, we're not into wasting people's time. At that moment; Irene was more important than our email!!! We tell you this because we take pride in getting the job done!!! We've never missed a Sunday email; and wanted to let you know the behind the scenes decisions/ details!!!
Next Sunday, the 10th Anniversary of 9/11, we will not be sending an email. Info will be sent Monday. ________________________________________________
