 All this holiday networking is exhausting. Our week started with Yvonne Bisk's MeetUp, then it was off to the LIHCC.org Holiday Party/ Toy Drive, followed by The Long Island Breakfast Club's Holiday Bash. All events were filled with holiday cheer. At Yvonne's event, food was collected. At the LIHCC event, networkers brought hundreds of toys, at The Long Island Breakfast Club - http://thelongislandbreakfastclub.blogspot.com/, lets just say, they eat their Wheaties. They should be called the Long Island Partying Club as holiday spirit filled the air. In addition to these quality events, the LIConnects networking group was at it again. In lieu of a holiday party, this Jan DeRobertis led group adopted a Long Island family for the holiday season and had funds left over to donate to a local senior home.

C'mon, get your priorities straight ...

Reps. Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii), Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.) and Mike Simpson (R-Idaho)are introducing a resolution rejecting the oft-criticized bowl system as an illegal restriction on trade because only the largest universities compete in most of the major bowl games. The resolution would require Justice's antitrust division to investigate whether the system violates federal law.

You would think our elected officials have more to be concerned about than a College Football Bowl System.
